Scope

This Privacy Notice explains how Foldoc handles information when you visit the website, create an account, purchase a plan, upload files, or use document conversion features.

Information we collect

• Account information, such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and security settings stored securely in our application database.
• Workspace and usage information, including plan, quota, conversion type, status, timestamps, and operational events.
• Documents you choose to upload and converted output files generated at your request.
• Billing identifiers, subscription status, and transaction metadata from Stripe. Foldoc does not receive full card numbers.
• Technical information such as IP address, browser details, request identifiers, security events, and aggregate performance analytics.

How we use information

• Provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve document conversion and account features.
• Authenticate users, enforce quotas, process subscriptions, and provide customer support.
• Detect malware, abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service.
• Measure aggregate reliability and performance without using document contents for advertising or model training.

Documents and file retention

Uploaded source files and converted outputs are private and are scheduled to expire no later than 24 hours after upload. Access may end earlier when you delete your account, a security rule quarantines a file, or a conversion fails in a way that requires immediate deletion.

Operational metadata may be retained longer when needed for billing, fraud prevention, security, dispute handling, legal compliance, and reliable deletion. Foldoc is not a permanent storage or backup service, so you should download needed output promptly and retain your own source copy.

Service providers

Foldoc uses service providers to operate the product: Resend for account verification and password-reset email, Stripe for billing, Neon for the application database, Vercel for web hosting and private file storage, Fly.io for isolated conversion workers, and Vercel analytics services for aggregate site performance. These providers process information under their own terms and data-protection commitments.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale where appropriate safeguards apply. We do not sell personal information or document contents.

Security

Foldoc uses access controls, private object storage, encrypted network connections, signed webhooks, tenant-scoped authorization, isolated conversion workers, malware scanning controls, and bounded retention processes. No system is completely secure, and you should avoid uploading information that is not necessary for the requested conversion.

International processing

Foldoc and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, the responsible provider or operator uses appropriate transfer safeguards. Provider locations may change as infrastructure evolves.

Your choices and rights

You can update account information through the account interface, manage billing through the customer portal, download available files, and request account deletion. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

Foldoc is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Higher age requirements may apply in some jurisdictions.

Changes and contact
